Immigration and Free Expression: Polar Opposites or Possible Allies?

Free expression is a fundamental democratic right.

What can the U.S. do to counter threats to free expression for immigrants? Is it ever appropriate to deny visa applications for political views? How can we protect civil liberties and privacy while also protecting national security?

This conversation is organized by Global Cornell and its Migrations initiative as part of explorations on Global Freedom of Expression and the university’s Freedom of Expression Theme Year.
