CIDA Seminar-Dr. Yun Yang,

Effective crop water use monitoring at the field scale is essential for enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring sustainable water management. By leveraging multi-source satellite data, we have developed a cloud-based water use mapping system that accurately estimates f ield-scale evapotranspiration (ET), reflecting the actual water consumption of crops. This system enables farmers and agricultural managers to make informed decisions on irrigation practices and identify areas experiencing water stress before yield losses occur. This presentation will discuss the algorithm and data production of the ET mapping system, as well as applications of ET for irrigation scheduling and water resource management.
