2023 Advanced Soil Health Course – offered virtually

Cornell University’s Soil Health program is pleased to announce the upcoming 2023 Advanced Soil Health International Certificate Training Course. The course will be held virtually from October 3 to November 14, 2023, offering practitioners, educators, and students a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of the latest science and practices in soil health.

The course will be taught by a team of leading Cornell University scientists, including:

Dr. Harold van Es, Professor of Soil and Water Management

Joseph Amsili, Extension Associate and Cornell Soil Health Program Coordinator

Dr. Debbie Aller, Extension Associate and Cornell Soil Health Program Coordinator

The course fee is $250 for the full course ($125 for nations not on the advanced economy list), $125 for the basic modules only, and $75 for New York State residents and students. A limited number of scholarships are available.

Participants can choose to take only the basic modules or the full course (basic & advanced modules). Three basic modules provide an overview of soil health, including the biology, physics, and chemistry of soil, as well as soil management practices. Four advanced modules build on the basic modules and cover more advanced topics, such as soil health assessment, monitoring, and improvement.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion. For those completing the full course and the small project assignment a microcredential can be earned.
