Conservation Dogs: Pushing Boundaries for Ecological Monitoring, Biosecurity, Law Enforcement, and Environmental Justice

Please join Pete Coppolillo, Ph.D., Executive Director of Working Dogs for Conservation (WD4C) based in Missoula, Montana, for an overview of the ways WD4C’s specially trained dogs are helping to move conservation forward here in North America and around the world. Dr. Coppolillo will share stories about finding rare and endangered species, helping to stop diseases affecting wildlife and people, and about combining cutting edge technology with skilled dogs to stop wildlife crime. He’ll also discuss how all of these techniques are helping Native and Indigenous communities to capture greater benefits from conservation and address historical inequities.
