EAS Seminar: Alba Rodríguez Padilla (UC Davis)
Bio:
Alba Rodríguez Padilla is a Ph.D. candidate in the Oskin Lab in the Earth and Planetary Science Department at the University of California, Davis. Her Ph.D. work combines field methods, landscape analysis, remote sensing, and numerical modeling to address a variety of problems in earthquake and fault mechanics.
Her current research interests focus on understanding:
1. The frequency and mechanics of multi-fault earthquakes
2. The distribution of inelastic strain during earthquakes and over multiple earthquake cycles
3. Stress-dissipation by off-fault plasticity
4. Distributed fault rupture hazard
