The Business of Mentoring

April CVBE Spark Talk with Dr. Katie Fish

Dr. Katie Fish received her DVM from Cornell University in 2004. She practiced as a small animal general practitioner at Perinton Veterinary Hospital until 2020 when she moved into a full-time mentorship role, supporting early career veterinarians across 17 hospitals for Monroe Veterinary Associates in Rochester, New York. MVA partnered with Thrive Pet Healthcare in 2021 and Dr. Fish began to grow her involvement with Thrive’s Doctor Mentorship Program while still doing boots-on-the-ground mentorship in Rochester. Since 2023, Dr. Fish has led the Doctor Mentorship Program for Thrive and is Director of Mentorship Programs, while continuing to enjoy working with mentees in the field as a Regional Doctor Mentor. Outside of work, Dr. Fish plays violin in several community orchestras and loves to travel.
