
CBE Energy Seminar: Paul Mutolo ’94 (Cornell Chemistry)
Bio:
Paul Mutolo ’94 is the Director of External Partnerships for the Energy Materials Center at Cornell University (emc2) and Co-Founder and President of Standard Hydrogen Corporation. He is a founding board member and officer of the New York Battery & Energy Storage Technology (NY-BEST) consortium. Dr. Mutolo’s professional work is focused on accelerating technology development and deployment through strategic partnerships. He is especially experienced with public-private and multi-party projects. Dr. Mutolo has helped build, nurture and grow a broad portfolio of industry, academic and national laboratory partners for emc2. He builds and assists projects between Cornell researchers developing new materials for batteries and fuel cells and industry partners in and beyond New York State commercializing products in these sectors.
Mutolo and colleagues founded The Standard Hydrogen Corporation to bring the benefits of hydrogen energy storage to the Eastern U.S., starting in New York. Dr. Mutolo earned his Ph.D. in inorganic and solid state chemistry from the University of California Santa Barbara. A recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship, Paul conducted two years of his doctoral research at the WWU in Münster, Germany. He received his A.B. in chemistry from Cornell.
