“My Mission to Save Citrus” – Breaking Ground with Michelle Heck

Citrus Greening Disease is currently devastating the multi-billion dollar citrus industry in the U.S., from Florida and Puerto Rico to California and Texas. Current approaches to controlling the disease – insecticides and antibiotics – are not sustainable because of their deleterious impacts on human health and the environment.

Please join BTI adjunct faculty member and USDA scientist Michelle Heck as we discuss her efforts to combat Citrus Greening Disease. Dr. Heck is leading a team of dozens of researchers from across the country to deliver sustainable solutions to defeat this devastating disease and save our citrus!
